How is the Activity Done?
In Uganda Hot air ballooning is only done at Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, its handled by the Dream Balloons who are fully registered and certified in 2011 by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, the National Environment Management Authority, the Uganda Communications Commission and Uganda Wildlife Authority before they could run this particular activity in these two popular National Parks.
Their pilots in the same way have to go through training under the Ugandan and Egyptian Aviation Authorities for certification before they are accepted to operate these balloons. You should note that the balloons’ size does not matter mainly because the more it is filled up with air, the more the weight it can carry. However at the moment only 8 passengers are allowed to fly up in the balloon. What is excluded are the little children of the age of 6 years and below due to the fact that Hot air balloon goes as high as 10000 ft. above sea level which might leave them feeling uneasy.
