Uganda gorilla trekking is a profound experience that begins with a scenic transition from Rwanda's rolling hills into the ancient, mist-covered rainforests of Uganda.
Our journey begins in Kigali, but our destination lies deep within the emerald shadows of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Crossing the border into Uganda, we leave behind the paved roads for the ancient trails of the mountain gorillas—a rare opportunity to stand in the presence of greatness in one of the world’s last true wildernesses.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali Memori- transfer to hotel.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be met by your driver-guide and transfer into Kigali city for a short tour head to Kigali Serene hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)- visit Genocide memorial.
Have early breakfast, visit Kigali Genocide Memorial stands as a solemn sanctuary of remembrance. It is a place where the weight of history meets the quiet dignity of a nation committed to healing. To walk through its gardens is to witness the resilience of the human spirit and the sacred duty of never forgetting drive north towards Uganda enjoy scenic views of the “Land of a Thousand Hills” along the way. Cross the Katuna border into Uganda.
Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.
Dinner and overnight proceed to Bwindi lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Batwa experience.
Early breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for briefing after transfer to the park begin gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, trekking can take 2–6 hours depending on the gorilla family location, spend one magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch after you can opt for evening community walk and experience the Batwa cultural dances, hunting skills and forest lifestyle.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Return to Kigali.
After breakfast, depart the lodge and head to Kigali international airport for your international flight. Have Lunch en route and drop-off at Kigali International Airport for departure.

In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (four sectors: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo) or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
As of 2026, a standard gorilla trekking permit in Uganda costs $800 USD per person, which covers park entry, ranger guides, and security.

Sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, insect repellent, a raincoat, and gloves to protect against vegetation.
Yes, the treks are highly regulated, with experienced armed rangers escorting groups, and the families are already habituated to human presence.
