Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park – Depart your hotel early in the morning for a scenic drive to Kasese town, stop over in Kayabwe at the equator for photos and a short break. Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch at Hotel Zebra before continuing your trip to Queen Elizabeth park where will arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweys Safari Lodge/ Jacana/ Simba camp
Day 2: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise
Set off for an early morning game drive through the northern crater. Uganda’s largest park is home to variety of big game, over 600 birds, 10 primate species and blessed with stunning landscapes and craters. Animals you may spot during the game drive include elephants, buffalo, warthogs, Topi, kobs, waterbucks and if lucky the leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch and short nap before transfering to Kazinga channel for a launch trip. You may spot animals like hippos, elephants , buffalo resting on the banks plus a variety of birds swirling around. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge.
Day 3- Kyambura Gorge Chimpanzee Tracking & Ishasha Sector
Enjoy an early breakfast and drive to Kyambura gorge aka “Valley of the Apes”, the only place in the park where you will be able to watch habituated chimpanzees plus a number of other primates like black & white colobus monkeys, vervet monkey and birds like falcons, bee-eaters among others. The guided forest walk may last up to 3 hours trekking and observing primates as they feed, play, swing across trees. Return to the lodge for lunch and then after proceed to the southern part of the park called Ishasha sector where you may get an opportunity to see tree climbing lions relaxing in the fig trees waiting to pounce on antelopes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 : Travel back to Kampala
Check out of the lodge early in the morning to begin your journey back to Kampala.
